FM Concludes Türkiye Visit with Major Diplomatic and Economic Milestones

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, has concluded his official visit to Türkiye, marked by key diplomatic engagements and the historic inauguration of the Maldivian Embassy in Ankara.
The primary purpose of the visit was to attend the fourth edition of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, held from April 11–13, 2025. On the sidelines of the forum, Minister Khaleel held productive meetings with his counterparts from Angola, Azerbaijan, The Gambia, Ghana, and Hungary. He also met with Türkiye’s Minister of Trade, Omer Bolat, and Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.
In Ankara, the Minister officially inaugurated the Embassy of the Maldives — a major milestone in strengthening bilateral relations between the Maldives and Türkiye.
Minister Khaleel also visited Istanbul, where he engaged with Türkiye's business community and potential investors, alongside Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed, promoting investment opportunities in the Maldives.
He was accompanied on the visit by Secretary Dr. Hala Hameed and Senior Under Secretary Hassan Hussain Shihab.
