On the sidelines of the Fourth Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, H.E. Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, met with the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.

During the meeting, the two Ministers explored avenues to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism—an area of shared national interest and economic significance. Discussions focused on enhancing tourism exchanges, promoting cultural understanding, and exploring investment opportunities in the hospitality sector.

Minister Khaleel highlighted the Maldives’ strong track record as a globally recognized luxury tourism destination and expressed interest in deepening collaboration with Türkiye in areas such as tourism promotion, sustainable development, and heritage conservation. Minister Ersoy welcomed the initiative and acknowledged the potential for increased partnership between the two nations' tourism sectors.

The meeting is part of Minister Khaleel’s broader official visit to Türkiye, where he is participating in ADF 2025 at the invitation of Turkish Foreign Minister H.E. Hakan Fidan. The Forum, held from April 11–13, 2025, under the theme “Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World,” brings together global leaders to address pressing international issues through dialogue and cooperation.

Minister Khaleel’s engagements during the Forum underscore the Maldives’ dedication to expanding diplomatic and economic ties, particularly in strategic sectors such as tourism, which remains a cornerstone of the nation's economy.
