Maldives Meteorological Service Issues White Alert for Multiple Atolls

The Maldives Meteorological Service has issued a White Alert for the region extending from Baa Atoll to Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, warning of adverse weather conditions.
The alert is in effect from 6:30 PM on January 1, 2025, until 12:30 AM on January 2, 2025. During this period, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected, accompanied by strong winds with gusts reaching up to 45 mph.
Authorities have urged residents and travelers in the affected atolls to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety. Mariners and those traveling by sea are advised to exercise caution due to the likelihood of rough conditions.
