The event also marked the unveiling of the logo for the Malé City Group of Hospitals, signifying the Government's commitment to strengthening the nation’s healthcare system.
As part of the inauguration, several key developments were introduced:
- Fertility Centre: A state-of-the-art facility aimed at supporting individuals and families in their journey toward parenthood.
- Hybrid Cardiac Catheterisation Lab (Cath Lab): A cutting-edge lab designed to enhance cardiac care and treatment options.
- Children’s Emergency Room (ER): Dedicated exclusively to pediatric care, ensuring specialized emergency services for children.
During the ceremony, President Muizzu toured the newly opened departments and interacted with healthcare professionals to gain insights into the enhanced services. A video report showcasing the newly introduced facilities was also presented.
The President had earlier announced plans to upgrade Dharumavantha Hospital and Hulhumalé Hospital to tertiary-level institutions during his Republic Day address on November 10. The inauguration of Hulhumalé Hospital, scheduled for this Saturday, is set to further underscore the Government's dedication to advancing healthcare services in the Maldives.
These upgrades are part of broader efforts to ensure accessible and high-quality medical care for all Maldivians, positioning the nation’s healthcare infrastructure to meet growing demands.
