Details of drone purchase not Disclosed for national security: President

Details of the transaction involved in the purchase of military drones to the Maldives not Disclosed in the interest of national security said the President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
In an exclusive interview to 'Mihaaru' newspaper yesterday, he said there was no corruption in drone matters or any other project and that the transaction was directly linked to national security.
He said he was not disclosing the details as the Defence Ministry had also recommended the same.
The president's remarks came at a time when the government has come under fire from the opposition for not disclosing the number of drones purchased.
The MNDF's Air Corp will use drones from the Turkish-made Bairaktar TB2. The drones are operated by Air Corp personnel trained for the purpose.
