Establishment of educational institution and mosque in Hulhumalé Phase 1

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has signed an agreement on Tuesday to develop the temporary mosque along side school.
The project was granted to Al-Madheena Investment Private Limited.
The agreement relating to the project was signed by HDC’s Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed and Madheena Investment’s CEO Ali Ahsan.
Under this agreement, the temporary mosque located in the zone will be developed as a connected school and a mosque.
As per a statement by HDC, the reason of the project is to pave the way for students to achieve a comprehensive Islamic education. Students from low-income families and students with special needs will be able to study at the school, free-of-charge.
HDC said teaching at pre-school level will commence at the school within the following two to three years. The school will later be developed in phases to implement secondary and higher secondary education.
The corporation is presently also undertaking the development of a temporary mosque in Hulhumale’ Phase II in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan.
