Max Verstappen completed a remarkable weekend at the Marina Bay Street Circuit by winning the Singapore Grand Prix, following his Sprint victory and pole position with another commanding performance to secure his second consecutive win of the 2026 season.
The Red Bull driver started from pole position after producing a brilliant lap in qualifying to claim the 50th pole of his Formula 1 career. With Charles Leclerc alongside him on the front row and Lewis Hamilton starting third, Verstappen faced a serious challenge from Ferrari as he looked to secure his first ever Singapore Grand Prix victory.
Verstappen converted his pole position into victory on Sunday, completing a perfect weekend at a circuit where he had never previously won a Grand Prix. After struggling for much of the season, the Dutchman has suddenly found winning form, following his breakthrough victory in Malaysia with another major result under the lights in Singapore.
Leclerc finished second for Ferrari, giving the Monegasque driver another strong result after narrowly missing out on pole position. Hamilton completed the podium in third, delivering a double podium for Ferrari and continuing his impressive recovery after finishing second in Saturday’s chaotic Sprint.
Kimi Antonelli finished fourth for Mercedes, collecting valuable championship points as he continued to lead the Drivers’ Championship. The young Italian remains in a strong position despite Verstappen’s recent resurgence, while George Russell endured another difficult weekend after crashing out of the Sprint and starting Sunday’s Grand Prix from the back of the grid because of power unit penalties.
Lando Norris finished fifth for McLaren, ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri in sixth. The result provided some recovery after their dramatic collision during Saturday’s Sprint, which saw both drivers lose out in the closing stages.
Pierre Gasly finished seventh for Alpine, followed by Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad, while Nico Hulkenberg completed the top ten for Audi.
Verstappen’s victory also marked the culmination of an almost flawless weekend. He secured Sprint pole on Friday, won Saturday’s rain affected Sprint despite a difficult start, and then claimed his first Singapore Grand Prix pole before converting it into victory.
The result gives Red Bull significant momentum heading into the next round of the championship. Verstappen has now won two consecutive races and is once again putting pressure on the drivers ahead of him in the standings.
For Ferrari, the double podium is an encouraging result, although the team will be disappointed to have missed out on victory after showing strong pace throughout qualifying and the Sprint.
Antonelli, meanwhile, leaves Singapore with his championship lead intact. With the season continuing to build towards its final races, every point matters as Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull fight for position.
After years of trying to conquer Marina Bay, Verstappen has finally done it. A Sprint victory, a 50th career pole and a Grand Prix win have made Singapore a defining weekend in his 2026 campaign.
