The High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Maldives, His Excellency Vice Admiral (Retd) Faisal Rasul Lodhi, formally presented his Letters of Credence to the President of the Maldives, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, during a ceremony held this morning at the President’s Office.
As part of a traditional welcome, the High Commissioner was escorted from Republic Square to the President’s Office in a cultural procession called “Haiykolhu,” accompanied by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band.
Upon presenting his credentials, High Commissioner Lodhi was warmly welcomed by President Muizzu as Pakistan's official envoy to the Maldives. Following the formalities, the two dignitaries engaged in a discussion focused on strengthening the bilateral relationship between their countries.
The talks encompassed various areas of mutual interest, including collaboration on climate change, healthcare, tourism, and trade. The High Commissioner also commended President Muizzu and the Maldives for their steadfast support of the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the shared values and solidarity between the two nations.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to deepening their partnership and exploring new avenues of cooperation for mutual benefit.
