Minister Rafiu Presents Badminton Trophy as Police Club Claim Title

Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Fitness Abdulla Rafiu attended the final of the Government Office/Company Badminton Tournament 2026 and presented the championship trophy to Police Club after their impressive victory over STELCO.

Police Club defeated STELCO 4–2 in an entertaining final to lift the championship title.

The tournament made its return this year after a nearly three-year break, with the competition restarting under the new leadership of the Badminton Association of Maldives.

A total of 11 teams participated in this year's tournament, marking a strong return for the government office and company badminton competition.

The successful comeback provides a renewed platform for employees and organisations to compete in badminton while supporting the continued development and promotion of the sport in the Maldives.

Badminton Association of Maldives continues to work towards creating more opportunities and strengthening badminton activities across the country.
