Manchester United's new signing Andrey Santos has received glowing praise from teammate Mason Mount, who believes the Brazilian midfielder has all the qualities to become a key player at Old Trafford.
Santos completed a permanent move from Chelsea to Manchester United earlier this month in a deal worth an initial £48 million, with a further £2 million in performance-related add-ons. The 22-year-old has signed a contract until June 2031, with the club holding an option to extend it by an additional year.
The Brazilian international is the first permanent signing under head coach Michael Carrick, who has strengthened his midfield following Casemiro's departure and Manuel Ugarte's knee injury.
Speaking about his new teammate, Mount was full of praise for Santos' ability and football intelligence.
The England international highlighted Santos' defensive awareness and his ability to drive the team forward in possession.
Mount also revealed that Santos has adapted quickly to life at Manchester United.
Santos arrives at Old Trafford with a growing reputation as one of Brazil's brightest midfield talents. Known for his composure, tactical awareness and box-to-box energy, he is expected to play a major role in Carrick's rebuilding project as United aim to compete for major honours this season.
With the backing of an experienced player like Mount and the confidence of the coaching staff, Andrey Santos will be hoping to make an immediate impact and justify Manchester United's significant investment in one of South America's most promising midfielders.
