Cheval Blanc produced a spirited second-half comeback to earn a 2-2 draw against Soneva Jani in the second match of the Resort League 2026 Noonu Zone.

Soneva Jani made a dream start, taking the lead in just the third minute through Mohamed Fathooh Firaq. Four minutes later, Mohamed Junaid doubled the advantage, giving Soneva a commanding 2-0 lead. They maintained control for the remainder of the first half and went into the break with a comfortable advantage.

Cheval Blanc responded strongly after the interval. In the 29th minute of the second half, Ibrahim Leevaan pulled one back to spark the comeback. Just three minutes later, Ibrahim Zidhaan found the equaliser, completing a remarkable turnaround and ensuring both teams shared the points.

The entertaining draw means both sides begin their Resort League 2026 Noonu Zone campaign with a point each after a match that featured two contrasting halves.

With five teams competing in a single league format, every point will be crucial as the battle intensifies for a place in the final. The league winners will advance directly to the final, while the second and third-placed teams will contest a playoff semi-final for the remaining spot.
