The Maldives U21 National Basketball Team completed the league phase of the Sports Nation Basketball Championship 2026 with a flawless record after cruising to a commanding 109-39 victory over Nets in Malé City.

The national team entered the match having already secured a place in the final, but once again demonstrated why they have been the standout side of the tournament with another dominant performance.

Maldives U21 took control from the opening quarter, racing to a 26-7 lead before extending their advantage to 47-17 by halftime.

The gap continued to grow in the third quarter as the national team reached 70 points, while Nets managed 26 points.

The final quarter saw Maldives U21 maintain their intensity, adding 39 more points to finish with an impressive 109-point total, while restricting Nets to 39 points.

The victory means the Maldives U21 National Team finishes the league stage with a 100 percent winning record, having won all of their matches to comfortably secure top spot and a place in the championship final.

A standout performer for the national team was Naaf (No. 45), who delivered an excellent performance and was deservedly named Player of the Match.

The defeat significantly dents Nets' hopes of reaching the final. Having suffered a heavy loss, their chances of finishing second are now out of their hands.

Attention now turns to the final league match between Saint Joseph's College (JOES) of Sri Lanka and Lancers, scheduled for tonight. The outcome of that match will determine which team joins the Maldives U21 National Team in the championship final.

With three victories from three matches, Maldives U21 have established themselves as the team to beat and will now await their final opponent as they aim to crown an outstanding tournament campaign with the championship title.
