Yazmeed Mohamed Steps Down as JSC Vice President

Yazmeed Mohamed has officially resigned from his position as the Vice President and member of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
Following his departure, the JSC released a statement on social media expressing gratitude for his tenure. The commission highly commended his valuable contributions and dedicated service during his time in office.
Background of the Appointment
Hailing from Vaijeheyge in GA. Villingili, Yazmeed was initially appointed to the commission by the President.
He was elected as the Vice President of the oversight body on October 23, 2025. His appointment to the leadership role came after the previous vice president stepped down from the position.
Composition of the Commission
The Judicial Service Commission is a key constitutional body responsible for overseeing the judiciary, handling judge appointments, and investigating disciplinary matters.
The commission is structurally composed of 10 individual members. Following Yazmeed’s sudden resignation, the total number of serving members currently active on the commission stands at nine, leaving a vacancy to be filled.
