New Fisheries Project to Develop Cold Storage, Processing Facility, and Modern Port in Kandholhudhoo

A major Government fisheries project will see the development of a cold storage and fish processing facility, along with a modern fishing port, in Raa Atoll’s Kandholhudhoo. The project has been awarded to 3 Way Enterprises Private Limited.
The agreement was signed on Saturday evening during the National Fishermen’s Day ceremony held in Raa Dhuvaafaru. Fisheries and Ocean Resources Minister Ahmed Shiyam signed on behalf of the Government, while 3 Way Enterprises was represented by Managing Director Hassan Ibrahim.
Under the project, the company will construct a cold storage facility, establish a fish processing plant, and develop a modern fishing port in Kandholhudhoo. Further details regarding the contract’s value or timeline have not been disclosed.
The Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources highlighted that the project is expected to create new income-generating opportunities for residents of Dhuvaafaru, many of whom have longstanding historical and economic ties to Kandholhudhoo.
