President Muizzu Announces Unified Pay Hike for Public Sector from November

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced the introduction of a harmonised pay structure for Civil Service, Judicial Service, and Local Government employees, effective 1 November.
The announcement, made via his official X account, ensures all pending increments will also be included.
The move fulfils the commitment outlined in this year’s Presidential Address to enhance remuneration for employees in these key sectors.
The President further stated that, as pledged, pay increments for other institutions where adjustments remain pending will be implemented in 2026.
