President Congratulates Maldives National Football Team on South Asian Super Cup Victory

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated the Maldives national football team on winning the South Asian Super Cup 2025.
Despite today’s draw against Sri Lanka, the Maldives secured the championship with a comfortable aggregate lead. In a post on his official X account, President Dr Muizzu expressed pride in the team’s achievement and extended warm congratulations on their victory.
The Government has pledged to revitalise football in the Maldives, with efforts underway to restore the sport to its former glory. As part of this commitment, new sports facilities are being established in Malé and across the atolls to strengthen grassroots and professional development nationwide.
