Search Underway for Missing Supply Boat Traveling from Gadhdhoo to Hulhumalé

Authorities have launched a search operation after a supply boat carrying five people went missing en route from GDh. Gadhdhoo to Hulhumalé.
In a statement posted on X, Maldives Police Service reported that the vessel, named 'Brilliant Carrier', departed Gadhdhoo at 8:00 PM last night but has since lost contact. Onboard were three Maldivians and two expatriates.
Tracking data from the 'Follow Me' app indicated that the boat's signal was lost around 8:04 PM, shortly after crossing GA. Atoll.
Police further stated that the last communication with the boat occurred at 2:40 AM early this morning. During that call, the Captain reported that they had recently passed Huvadhoo Kandu. Attempts to reestablish contact with the vessel have since been unsuccessful.
The incident was formally reported to the Gadhdhoo Police Station, and the information has been relayed to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Southern Region Command, which is now assisting in search efforts.
Authorities say all necessary measures are being taken to locate the missing boat and ensure the safety of those onboard. Further updates will be provided as the search progresses.
