Barceló Hotel Group has marked a significant milestone in its international expansion with the opening of Barceló Nasandhura Malé, the first five-star hotel in the capital city of the Maldives.

Located on the seafront with breathtaking, unobstructed views of the Indian Ocean, Barceló Nasandhura Malé offers an urban luxury experience with 136 elegant rooms, 116 designer apartments, and premium office spaces. Strategically positioned opposite the Henveiru Ferry Terminal and just a 10-minute drive from Velana International Airport, the hotel is poised to redefine hospitality standards in Malé.

The new hotel offers a complete range of services, including three restaurants — Alimas, Oivaru, and Dons — as well as a rooftop bar, BHeaven, a shisha lounge, and the city’s first and only oceanfront pool bar. Guests can also indulge in an extensive wellness area, featuring a spa with six luxurious treatment rooms and a fully equipped fitness centre with sweeping ocean views.

Catering to both leisure and business travelers, Barceló Nasandhura Malé also offers over 1,000 square meters of space for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events, making it a prime venue for corporate functions and conventions.

This opening strengthens Barceló Hotel Group’s footprint in Asia, where it now operates hotels across six countries: the Maldives, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the UAE, and Oman. It is the group’s second property in the Maldives, following the successful launch of Barceló Whale Lagoon Maldives last year — a luxury resort with 100 villas located on Bodufinolhu Island in South Ari Atoll, renowned for its proximity to prime whale shark diving spots.

With its unique blend of tranquility, elegance, and modern amenities, Barceló Nasandhura Malé promises to offer an exceptional urban resort experience in the heart of the Indian Ocean.
