Scattered Showers and Thunderstorms Expected in Southern Atolls Tonight

The Maldives Meteorological Service has issued a weather advisory for tonight, valid until 06:00 hrs on April 4, 2025. The forecast predicts scattered showers with heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in the southern atolls, while isolated showers are expected in some parts of the central atolls. The northern atolls are expected to remain mostly clear.

Winds will vary, with south/southwesterly winds prevailing in the southern atolls and north/northeasterly winds elsewhere, blowing at speeds of 5 to 15 miles per hour.

Sea conditions are expected to be slight, with wave heights ranging between 1 to 3 feet.

Travelers, especially those in the southern atolls, are advised to remain cautious due to possible heavy showers and thunderstorms. Fishermen and seafarers are encouraged to stay updated on weather conditions before heading out.
