Registrar of Companies Mariyam Visam Resigns After 11 Years

Mariyam Visam, the Registrar of Companies, has resigned from her position after serving for 11 years.
According to sources, Visam tendered her resignation four days ago. She has stated that her decision was driven by a desire to pursue opportunities in the private sector.
Visam was appointed as Company Registrar in 2014 during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. Throughout her tenure, she played a significant role in corporate governance and business regulations in the Maldives.
Visam holds higher education qualifications in business and marketing, bringing expertise in these fields to her long-standing role in public service.
