Customs Seizes 1kg of Cannabis Smuggled via Post

The Maldives Customs Service has seized 1.07 kg of cannabis, which was being smuggled into the Maldives via post.
According to Customs, the drugs were discovered during the inspection of a package that arrived yesterday. Initial testing confirmed that the substance found inside was cannabis.
The seized cannabis has an estimated street value of MVR 856,000.
Authorities have handed over a 52-year-old Maldivian man—who attempted to collect the package—to the Maldives Police Service, along with the confiscated drugs.
Law enforcement agencies are conducting further investigations into the case.
