Man Arrested in Male’ with One Kilogram of Drugs

A 32-year-old man has been arrested in Malé after police discovered one kilogram of narcotics and a large sum of cash during a search of two residences. The operation was conducted following intelligence received from Counter Narcotics Intelligence, police confirmed today.
The suspect, identified as Hassan Nazeeh from Galolhu Jootheege, was reportedly using, possessing, and dealing drugs. The arrest was made on Thursday as part of a joint operation between Counter Narcotics Intelligence and the Drug Enforcement Department.
During the search of two residences linked to Nazeeh, authorities seized a significant amount of money and suspected narcotics weighing more than one kilogram. However, police have not disclosed the exact amount of cash confiscated.
Following his arrest, Nazeeh was presented before the court and has been remanded in custody for 10 days pending further investigation.
Authorities continue to crack down on drug-related crimes in the Maldives, with police emphasizing their commitment to disrupting illegal drug networks.
