Police Launch Operation in R. Alifushi and Meedhoo Over Allegations of Black Magic

The Maldives Police Service has initiated a major operation in the islands of R. Alifushi and Meedhoo in response to allegations of black magic being performed in the communities.
The police confirmed that they had received reports regarding black magic practices in these islands. Several houses are reportedly being searched by authorities as part of the investigation. However, the police have not disclosed further details about the operation at this time.
Residents of both islands have expressed concerns on social media regarding sorcery activities, contributing to growing unease within the local community.
This is not the first instance where the police have investigated such allegations. In 2024, the Maldives Police conducted searches in Sh. Kanditheemu, where they discovered materials used in black magic practices at some residences.
