State Media MD Mohamed Saeed Resigns!

News
Ahmed Shurau

Mohamed Saeed, the Managing Director of Public Service Media (PSM) , has resigned after serving less than four months in the role. Saeed, who was appointed on August 24, 2024, following the resignation of the previous Managing Director, Zeena Zahir, stepped down from his position earlier this evening.

Though no official statement has been issued by the Public Service Media Corporation (PSM), the reason behind Saeed's sudden resignation remains unclear. His departure comes amidst rising tensions surrounding recent incidents involving State Media.

One of the controversies was linked to the live broadcast of an event attended by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, during which a portion of a Quranic verse was inadvertently omitted. Additionally, during a recent English news broadcast, a nude image of a person was accidentally aired, sparking public outcry.

As the State Media continues to face scrutiny, the resignation of its Managing Director has left many questioning the future direction of the organization, especially in light of the media missteps.
