Maldives Showcases at IFTM Top Resa 2024 in Paris

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) is showcasing the Maldives' diverse holiday experiences at IFTM Top Resa 2024, taking place from September 17th to 19th in Paris, France. This annual event, one of the premier travel trade fairs in France, targets key travel buyers across all trade segments, including business, leisure, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions).

A total of 35 representatives from 21 companies within the Maldivian tourism sector are participating, working alongside Visit Maldives to attract potential business partnerships and increase tourist arrivals from the French market.

The Maldives stand, covering 121 sqm, showcases the destination’s signature blend of luxury, sustainability, and natural beauty. It features immersive elements such as local food displays and promotional videos highlighting the Maldives’ luxury resorts, rich marine life, and honeymoon and underwater experiences. A raffle giveaway offering holidays to the Maldives, sponsored by Brennia Kottefaru, Joy Island Maldives by The Cocoon Collection, and Robinson Noonu Maldives, is also a highlight, engaging visitors at the stand.

The French market holds a prominent place for Maldivian tourism, with 35,202 tourist arrivals recorded as of August 2024, making France the 8th largest source market. MMPRC is aiming to increase arrivals in the luxury, family holiday, and sustainability segments through targeted marketing campaigns, including the ongoing “Discover Maldives” Webinar series tailored to the French market.

Further promotional efforts include a media familiarisation trip, the continuation of the VeryChic JMP campaign, and participation in the prestigious ILTM Cannes. MMPRC continues to position the Maldives as a top travel destination for French tourists, ensuring that the “Sunny Side of Life” remains prominent in their minds.
