Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef Launches "Education Transformation Initiative"

Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef officially launched the "Education Transformation Initiative" on Thursday during a ceremony held at Jen Maldives, Malé.
This significant project aims to advance the Maldivian education sector with a substantial USD 9.5 million grant from the Global Partnership for Education (GPE).
The "Education Transformation Initiative" includes three key grants: a USD 5 million system transformation grant with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) serving as the grant agent, a USD 1.5 million system capacity grant, also managed by UNICEF, and a USD 3 million multiplier grant with the World Bank (WB) as the grant agent.
At the ceremony, Vice President Latheef also unveiled the programme document and launched the official project website, marking the beginning of this transformative effort in the country's education system.
The initiative is expected to bring substantial improvements to educational infrastructure, capacity, and overall quality in the Maldives.
