SIWEC, the Sifainge Welfare company, has been assigned the important task of fixing the lighting system at Galolhu National Stadium.
This project has received a generous budget of MVR 3.9 million and must be completed within a tight deadline of 30 days.
The Sports Ministry, responsible for overseeing the stadium, had previously invested in repairs before the 2023 SAFF Championships. However, there have been recurrent problems since then, causing disruptions during a match between Maziya Sports & Recreation and Buru Sports Club. This event has highlighted the urgency for prompt and efficient repairs.
As a result, league matches had to be rescheduled for late afternoons, causing inconvenience to the ongoing Second Division playoffs.
