Bank of Maldives has introduced PayMV QR codes, enabling customers to make faster and easier fund transfers through the BML Mobile Banking app.
This new feature allows users to send and receive money instantly by simply scanning or generating a QR code — offering a quick, secure, and convenient way to transfer funds.
With this launch, BML becomes the first bank in the Maldives to comply with the Maldives Monetary Authority’s (MMA) new Maldives Payment System Development (MPSD) project requirements, marking a major step forward in the country’s digital payments landscape.
BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef said, “All payment providers are mandated by the Central Bank to comply with the new payment standards. As the biggest financial institution in the country, we’re proud to take the first step in implementing this project. From today, our customers can enjoy a smoother, faster banking experience.”
As the leading financial institution in the Maldives, BML continues to drive innovation and accessibility across its 42 branches, 202 Self Service Banking Centres, and 262 ATMs, strengthening its role in transforming everyday banking for communities nationwide.
