WAMCO, MTCC Survive Thrillers to Reach Women’s Semi-Finals

WAMCO and MTCC booked their places in the semi-finals of the BML One Game Inter-Office Beach Handball Tournament Women's Division after both teams secured hard-fought victories in their quarter-final matches.

WAMCO 1–2 BML

BML edged WAMCO in a thrilling quarter-final, winning 2–1 after a decisive shootout.

WAMCO took the opening set by a narrow 9–8 margin, but BML responded strongly in the second set to win 16–7 and force a shootout.

The decisive shootout ended 4–3 in BML's favour, sending BML through to the semi-finals.

Fathimath Junaa of WAMCO was named Player of the Match (POTM) for her performance.

WAMCO entered the knockout stage as Group A winners, while BML qualified as Group D runners-up.

MTCC 2–1 HDC

MTCC also advanced after overcoming HDC 2–1 in another exciting quarter-final.

HDC made the stronger start, winning the opening set 13–7. MTCC responded in the second set, securing an 12–8 victory to level the match.

The contest was then decided by a shootout, with MTCC prevailing 4–3 to complete the comeback and secure their semi-final place.

Fathimath Amaanee Ahmed Shiyam of MTCC was named Player of the Match.

MTCC reached the quarter-finals as Group B winners, while HDC qualified as Group C runners-up.

The women's competition features 16 teams divided into four groups, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarter-finals.

With WAMCO, BML, MTCC and HDC now involved in the decisive knockout stage, the race for the women's championship is heating up.
