Saudi Shura Council President Arrives in the Maldives

The President of the Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia (Shura Council), His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, has arrived in the Maldives for an official visit.
Dr. Al-Sheikh arrived yesterday following an official invitation extended by the Speaker of the Parliament of the Maldives (People's Majlis), Hon. Abdul Raheem Abdulla.
Enhancing Parliamentary Diplomacy
According to an official update published on the social media platform X by the People's Majlis, the high-level visit aims to fortify the long-standing bilateral relations between the two nations and explore fresh avenues for collaborative development across multiple sectors.
In a statement addressing the visit, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sheikh highlighted that the journey symbolizes the deep-rooted ties connecting Saudi Arabia and the Maldives. He noted that the visit reflects the high priority leadership from both sides places on continuous dialogue regarding mutual interests.
The Shura Council President further emphasized that the bilateral relationship remains anchored in Islamic brotherhood and mutual respect, expressing confidence that this visit will inject new momentum into inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Upcoming Official Agenda
During his stay, the Shura Council President is scheduled to hold head-to-head official talks with Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla to discuss legislative framework collaborations. Additionally, Dr. Al-Sheikh will be paying courtesy calls on several senior officials of the Maldivian government to discuss broader diplomatic and economic partnerships.
