The Chargé d’Affaires of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Embassy to the Maldives, Her Excellency Heeba Al Junaibi, paid a courtesy call on the Maldivian Minister of Defense and National Service, Hon. Hassan Rasheed, today.

The diplomatic meeting, hosted at the Ministry of Defense, focused heavily on reinforcing bilateral security strategies and reviewing shifting geopolitical dynamics.

Strengthening Defense Cooperation

According to an official briefing from the Defense Ministry, both officials highlighted the long-standing, robust bilateral ties that connect the two nations. The primary discussions centered on exploring comprehensive pathways to further strengthen defense and security cooperation between the Maldives and the UAE.

Beyond immediate bilateral military interests, Minister Rasheed and Chargé d’Affaires Al Junaibi exchanged viewpoints on the current regional developments and security challenges shaping the Middle East. Both sides reiterated the importance of maintaining open dialogue to safeguard shared interests and mutual maritime stability.
