Sun Siyam Resorts has strengthened its presence in the Chinese market through a series of trade and promotional initiatives held in Shanghai.

As part of the campaign, Sun Siyam launched a brand advertisement on the iconic Shanghai Bund mega screen, becoming the first hospitality brand in its category to feature on the landmark display.

The group also hosted an exclusive partner appreciation event attended by more than 40 travel trade partners, wholesalers, travel agents, and media representatives. The event was held aboard a private cruise on the Huangpu River and led by Sun Siyam Group CEO Deepak Booneady alongside senior sales and marketing representatives.

According to the company, the gathering focused on strengthening strategic partnerships, sharing market insights, and exploring future growth opportunities within China’s luxury outbound travel sector.

Industry representatives attending the event highlighted growing demand among Chinese travellers for premium Maldives experiences.

Ctrip representative Jacky Liu noted that Sun Siyam continues to maintain strong recognition among high end Chinese travellers due to its service standards and tailored experiences.

Representatives from Beijing Ontour, Nanjing Whale Trip, and Hanglv also expressed confidence in the brand’s continued investment in the Chinese market and the growing demand for luxury Maldives travel.

Sun Siyam CEO Deepak Booneady described China as a key strategic market for the company, adding that the initiatives reflect the group’s focus on strengthening long term partnerships and expanding its footprint across Asia.
