Lando Norris edged out Max Verstappen to claim pole position for the 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix, delivering a high-pressure lap of 1:47.934 under the lights. Verstappen qualified second with a strong effort, while Carlos Sainz secured a surprising P3 for Williams after a clean final run.
George Russell will start from P4 in his Mercedes, setting up a strong weekend for the Silver Arrows, while title contender Oscar Piastri lined up fifth for McLaren. Liam Lawson continues to impress at his home race, claiming P6 in the Racing Bulls car. Fernando Alonso and Isack Hadjar followed in P7 and P8 respectively, with Charles Leclerc ninth and Pierre Gasly rounding out the top 10.
Norris’s pole comes after a consistent weekend from the McLaren squad, and he said team execution was “perfect” when it mattered. Verstappen, though disappointed to miss out on top spot, acknowledged that Norris “put together an incredible lap.”
The grid now sets the stage for an all-out battle in Sunday’s race, and with the championship so tight, every position will count.
