Malé City Group of Hospitals (MCGH), in partnership with the Ministry of Health, has launched a multi-specialty surgical camp at Raa Ungoofaaru Regional Hospital.
The camp, which runs from 5 to 8 September, brings together doctors from a wide range of specialties to provide consultations, perform surgical operations, and deliver training to local doctors and nurses. A capacity assessment is also being carried out to evaluate the hospital’s clinical and functional services.
According to the Health Ministry, such outreach programmes aim to expand access to specialised care in the atolls, while also giving regional healthcare professionals valuable hands-on experience alongside visiting specialists.
MCGH CEO Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem reaffirmed the group’s commitment to working with the Health Ministry and regional hospitals to strengthen medical services available across the country.
MCGH is the largest hospital network in the Maldives, comprising Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), Villimalé Hospital, and Hulhumalé Hospital. Earlier this year, the Maldivian Blood Service and the Thalassaemia Centre were also brought under its management.
