News

National airline Maldivian has announced a 15 percent discount on domestic tickets for Free Independent Travelers (FITs), a move aimed at making it easier for tourists to explore the Maldives without using tour operators.

In a statement, the airline said the initiative is designed to boost tourism and provide greater economic benefits for Maldivians.

“This is an effort to bring more value to our passengers and to help local tourism,” said Maldivian’s Managing Director, Ibrahim Iyas, adding that the airline takes pride in connecting tourists to the heart of Maldivian society.

He further noted that the airline hopes the more accessible price range will help tourism “in a big way” by broadening services and opportunities for visitors.

As part of its local tourism support efforts, Maldivian also announced corporate rates for tourism businesses.

With the widest domestic reach, Maldivian currently operates flights to 17 destinations. FIT tourists can book discounted tickets directly through the airline’s website.
