President Muizzu Meets UK APPG Maldives Members at the House of Lords

His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with members of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for the Maldives today at the House of Lords, Palace of Westminster, as part of his official visit to the United Kingdom.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding collaboration across key sectors. Both sides held substantive discussions on advancing partnerships in fisheries, promoting sustainable tourism, building climate resilience, and supporting education and capacity development.

President Dr Muizzu highlighted the Maldives’ priorities in ensuring climate adaptation, enhancing trade and investment opportunities, and fostering long-term educational exchanges. APPG members reiterated their commitment to deepening parliamentary engagement and supporting initiatives that benefit both nations.

The engagement underscores the importance of the Maldives-UK relationship, which marks its 60th anniversary in 2025. The visit forms part of President Muizzu’s high-level agenda in London, which includes meetings with senior UK government officials and participation in a business forum to promote investment in the Maldives.
