21-year-old Yumnu Rasheed, who suffered critical injuries after falling from the rooftop of a high-rise building in Malé City on May 18, has been flown abroad for advanced medical treatment.

According to sources, Yumnu was transported to Malaysia aboard a SriLankan Airlines charter flight, ALK104. She was accompanied by a nurse and a doctor from Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), both of whom departed with her last evening.

The government had allocated a significant amount of funds for Yumnu’s treatment, with the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) reportedly sanctioning over MVR 300,000. However, her family later appealed to the public for additional financial support due to the high costs involved. Within hours of launching the appeal, the required funds for her medical expenses were successfully raised.

Yumnu’s case has drawn significant public attention and sympathy amid ongoing calls for accountability related to the investigation of the incident.
