Resort League: Shaffah Hat-trick Sends Soneva Jani into Noonu Zone Final

Soneva Jani booked their place in the Resort League 2026 Noonu Zone final after defeating Robinson 5-2 in a thrilling playoff semi-final.

Soneva Jani entered the playoff as the league-round runners-up, collecting seven points from four matches, while Robinson qualified as the third-placed team with six points. Soneva Jani had also defeated Robinson 3-0 during the league phase.

Soneva Jani made a perfect start, taking the lead in the 3rd minute through Hussain Shaffah. Mohamed Junaid doubled the advantage in the 14th minute, but Robinson quickly responded as Mohamed Shuhadh pulled one back just a minute later.

However, Soneva Jani restored their two-goal advantage in the 17th minute, with Shaffah scoring his second of the match. The first half ended with Soneva Jani leading 3-1.

Shaffah completed his hat-trick in the 26th minute of the second half, putting Soneva Jani firmly in control. Robinson refused to give up, and Shuhadh scored his second goal in the 33rd minute to make it 4-2.

Two minutes later, Ahmed Rameez scored Soneva Jani's fifth goal to seal a convincing 5-2 victory.

Shaffah's outstanding three-goal performance earned him the Man of the Match award.

With the victory, Soneva Jani advance to the Resort League 2026 Noonu Zone final, where they will face Velaa on 19 July 2026 at 16:00 at Siyam World Maldives.
