Velaa produced a commanding performance to defeat Robinson 4-0 in the Resort League 2026 – Noonu Zone, moving up to second place in the standings with six points from three matches.

The defeat leaves Robinson at the bottom of the table with three points from three games. However, Robinson still have a chance of reaching the playoff semi-finals if they can secure victory in their final league match.

Velaa took control of the contest in the 14th minute of the first half when Mohamed Zaahidh Saeed opened the scoring. Robinson struggled to break down Velaa's disciplined defence, and the first half ended with Velaa holding a 1-0 advantage.

The second half belonged entirely to Velaa. Ahmed Imthinah doubled the lead in the 37th minute, putting Robinson under increasing pressure.

Velaa then added two more goals in stoppage time. Azleem Ahmed made it 3-0 in the first minute of added time, before Hassan Abdul Jaleel completed the scoring two minutes later with the final kick of the match.

After scoring the opening goal and delivering an impressive all-round display, Mohamed Zaahidh Saeed was deservedly named Man of the Match.

With one round of league fixtures remaining, the race for the knockout stage remains wide open. The Noonu Zone league winners will advance directly to the final, while the second and third-placed teams will meet in a playoff semi-final to determine the second finalist.
