Second Batch of National Service Trainees Head to Kihaadhoo for Specialized Vocational Training

The participants of the second batch of the National Patriotic Service program have officially departed for B. Kihaadhoo to begin their specialized technical and vocational training phase. President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced that the newly recruited youth have traveled to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) School of Engineering and Logistics established on the island. This phase follows their initial orientation and marks a major step forward in the administration's flagship youth development initiative.

President Muizzu emphasized that this comprehensive program is a foundational pillar of the government's long-term strategy to build a responsible, self-reliant, and productive citizenry. He noted that the training is meticulously designed to foster self-confidence, strengthen civic ideology, and improve both the spiritual and physical well-being of the younger generation. The ultimate goal remains to nurture disciplined individuals who possess a profound love for their national identity and heritage.

The current cohort consists of 77 young individuals aged between 16 and 19 years, representing a wide geographical distribution across the Maldives. The trainees originate from 50 different islands spanning 17 atolls, highlighting the inclusive and nationwide reach of the program. Throughout their stay in Kihaadhoo, these participants will be given the unique opportunity to gain valuable technical expertise and practical skills across six distinct professional fields.

This latest deployment builds upon the successful foundations laid during the inaugural cycle of the National Patriotic Service program. The first batch saw a total of 344 participants successfully complete their basic institutional training and graduate on December 28 last year. Out of that initial group, 63 graduates have already progressed into advanced specialized fields, paving the way for this second batch to secure highly sought-after professional qualifications.
