Visit Maldives Corporation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Luxury Escapes to strengthen destination marketing efforts in Australia and New Zealand.
The agreement was signed on May 16 at the Luxury Escapes headquarters in Melbourne by VMC CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shiuree and Luxury Escapes Co Founder and CEO Adam Schwab.
According to VMC, the partnership aims to increase the Maldives’ visibility across both markets through coordinated trade, consumer, media, and retail marketing initiatives.
Planned activities under the collaboration include trade engagement events, retail campaigns, destination showcases, webinars, travel agent training programmes, and integrated digital and print marketing campaigns.
Luxury Escapes will also feature the Maldives on its “Luxury Escapes TV” platform and facilitate media familiarisation trips, including participation in a new direct flight experience to the Maldives from Australia.
VMC stated that the partnership comes at a significant time following the launch of new direct flights from Melbourne to the Maldives this week.
Luxury Escapes CEO Adam Schwab said the new connectivity is expected to further increase interest in the Maldives among Australian travellers.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Shiuree described Australia as a key focus market for the Maldives, adding that the collaboration would help expand destination awareness and strengthen tourism flows during off peak periods.
The partnership is structured as a value in kind collaboration, with both organisations contributing marketing expertise, resources, and industry support.
