Police Seize Over 300 Grams of Suspected Drugs in Malé Raid; Three Arrested

Police have confiscated more than 300 grams of suspected drugs and over MVR 40,000 in cash during a raid on a house in Malé, which led to the arrest of three individuals.
The operation, conducted on 2 September in Maafannu, was carried out in collaboration with the Counter Narcotics Intelligence and the Drug Enforcement Department. Authorities reported the provisional weight of the seized substances as 304.73 grams.
The suspects were presented before the court for remand hearings. A 56-year-old man, identified as Abdul Ghanee Abdul Majeed, and a 27-year-old man, identified as Ahnaf Ashraf, were remanded in custody for 15 days. The third suspect was released under conditions.
Police confirmed the case involves allegations of drug use, possession, and trafficking. Investigations remain ongoing.
