FDC Signs Over 200 Housing Agreements

News
Ahmed Shurau

The Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has announced that the process of signing agreements with beneficiaries of the 4,000 housing units developed in Hulhumalé is continuing steadily, with more than 230 agreements finalized as of August 1.

FDC stated that the contract signing process, which officially began on July 21, 2025, is being carried out in phases based on the order in which beneficiaries complete registration and upload required documentation via the corporation’s online ‘Fahi Portal’. Individuals are contacted progressively, and more appointments are being scheduled each day.

The agreement signings are conducted based on an official list of eligible recipients received from the Ministry of Housing. According to FDC, the Ministry is responsible for verifying all required documentation before submitting beneficiaries' names to the company. So far, the Ministry has forwarded the details of 2,665 individuals.

In an effort to expedite the process, FDC has begun implementing a series of efficiency-focused measures, including:

  1. Shortening the deadline for beneficiaries to upload required documents
  2. Increasing the number of daily appointment slots
  3. Deploying more staff for contract signings
  4. Providing accelerated training to new employees
  5. Adding additional service counters at the signing venue

The signing of housing agreements is taking place at the Hulhumalé synthetic track area, where beneficiaries are informed of their specific appointment time once their documentation is successfully reviewed and verified through the portal.

FDC reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a smooth and efficient process for all eligible applicants and aims to complete the contract signing process for all 4,000 beneficiaries before the end of September.

This mass housing initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to address the growing demand for affordable and adequate housing in the Greater Malé Region.
