Maldives Launches “From Maldives” National Fisheries Brand in London

The Government of Maldives has officially launched “From Maldives,” a new national fisheries promotional brand, during a special event held in London, United Kingdom. The launch was officiated by His Excellency Dr Mohamed Muizzu, President of the Republic of Maldives, marking a major step in positioning the country’s fisheries sector on the global stage.

The From Maldives brand reflects a bold vision to transform the Maldives’ fisheries into an environmentally sustainable, technologically advanced, and globally competitive sector. The brand logo draws inspiration from traditional Maldivian fishing vessels, the texture of fish, and the vibrancy of marine life, symbolizing the nation’s deep-rooted connection to the ocean and its commitment to innovation.

Under this initiative, the Maldives is expanding fish processing capacity, modernizing its fleet with energy-efficient vessels and digital monitoring systems, and investing in cold storage infrastructure. These advancements aim to improve traceability, maintain superior catch quality, and meet the growing demand from sustainability-conscious and premium global markets.

With the slogan “The Ocean’s Finest,” the brand communicates more than a geographic origin. It represents authenticity, the integrity of sustainable one-by-one fishing practices, and the craftsmanship behind value-added processing in the Maldives.

President Dr Muizzu highlighted that the brand forms part of a broader strategy to build a resilient blue economy that generates more value from marine resources, enhances livelihoods, and champions ocean stewardship.

The initiative is spearheaded by the Maldives Fisheries and Ocean Resources Marketing and Promotion Corporation, established by the President to lead global marketing and promotional efforts for Maldivian fisheries products.
