Dusit Resorts in the Maldives, comprising Dusit Thani Maldives and the soon-to-open dusitD2 Feydhoo Maldives, have partnered with MOMS Aid to support families facing financial hardship during the holy month of Ramadan. The initiative was marked by a special event at Salt Café and Restaurant, where essential food items were donated for the Ramadan Aid 2025 campaign.
Helping Families in Need
The Ramadan Aid campaign, launched by MOMS Aid in 2020, provides food baskets filled with essential staples to families in need across the Maldives. This year, over 260 families have registered for assistance, with MOMS Aid aiming to support 500 families. Thanks to the generosity of Dusit Resorts in Maldives and its team members, 178 families will receive much-needed aid.
Commitment to Community and Women’s Empowerment
The event was inaugurated by Jean-Louis Ripoche, Area General Manager of Dusit Resorts in Maldives, and Mauroof Mohamed, Cluster Director of Human Resources.
Mauroof Mohamed noted that the initiative began as an internal effort to provide Ramadan gifts, but quickly grew into a larger donation campaign.
The event was also attended by representatives from MOMS Aid, the Chefs Guild of Maldives, and Hope for Women, who emphasized the importance of corporate partnerships in community welfare.
MOMS Aid: A Lifeline for Families in Need
MOMS Aid, one of the Maldives’ leading NGOs, is dedicated to empowering women and alleviating poverty through relief programs, education, and economic opportunities.
During the event, Fathimath Riyasa, Executive Director of MOMS Aid, highlighted the stark realities of financial hardship in the country, stressing the increasing need for community-driven support.
Additionally, Uza. Azima Shukoor, representing Hope for Women, urged more organizations to collaborate with local NGOs to uplift vulnerable communities.
