Maldives Showcases Luxury Offerings at ILTM Cannes 2024

Cannes, France – The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) is proudly showcasing the Maldives’ luxury tourism offerings at the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Cannes 2024, a flagship event held at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès from 02nd to 05th December 2024. The event kicked off with the Global Forum on the first day, bringing together leading figures from the global luxury travel sector.

A total of 12 representatives from seven companies, including Alila Kothaifaru Maldives, Amilla Fushi, Bliss Maldives Pvt Ltd, Finolhu Baa Atoll Maldives, JA Manafaru, The Nautilus Maldives, and Villa Resorts, are participating alongside Visit Maldives at the show.

ILTM Cannes is a premier luxury travel trade event that attracts key players from the global luxury travel sector, including top travel advisors and luxury travel brands. The event serves as a significant platform for in-person business meetings, educational sessions, and networking opportunities with French and international travel professionals.

MMPRC’s participation in ILTM Cannes 2024 aims to position the Maldives as the ultimate luxury destination, targeting affluent travellers and showcasing its exceptional offerings, from opulent resorts to exclusive liveaboard experiences, set amidst the destination’s breathtaking natural beauty.

France is an important market for the Maldives, currently ranking as the 7th source market for arrivals. As of October 2024, 1,664,648 French travellers have visited the Maldives. Through its participation in ILTM Cannes 2024 and continued marketing efforts, such as the Discover Maldives Webinar Series, Visit Maldives aims to strengthen its presence in the French market and attract even more French luxury travellers to the islands.

This year, the Maldives was honoured with several prestigious awards at the World Travel Awards, including the titles of the World’s Leading Destination for the fifth consecutive year and the World’s Leading Green Destination for the first time. These accolades underscore the Maldives’ continued dominance in the global tourism industry and its allure as the world’s premier luxury travel destination.

Through its involvement in ILTM Cannes 2024 and ongoing initiatives, Visit Maldives remains dedicated to elevating the Maldives’ luxury tourism sector and ensuring it remains the destination of choice for discerning travellers worldwide.
