Maldivian Chefs win 9 medals in Pakistan International Culinary Championship

Maldivian chefs have bagged nine medals at the Pakistan International Culinary Championship. The tournament was held in Lahore from May 13-15.

The Pakistan International Culinary Championship was organized by the Chefs Association of Pakistan, a national body of Pakistani chefs. Maldivian chefs participated in the competition on behalf of the Chefs Guild of Maldives.

Chef Ismail Tahseen, Chef Ajwad Abdul Wahhab, Chef Aishath Rashfa Ahmed and Chef Mariam Shafana are part of the team of chefs.

Some of the achievements of local chefs in the competition:

  3. Gold Medal – Chicken Live Cooking
  4. Silver Medal – Seafood Live Cooking

Chef Ismail Tahseen, Chef Ajwad Abdul Wahhab and Chef Aishath Rashfa Ahmed participated in the team challenge to prepare the 4-course Gourmet Menu and bagged the highest marks and gold medals.

World Chefs Certified Continental Judges Chefs Fathmath Omar, Chefs Mohammed Abdulla and Rookie Judge Shihama Shafiu were present to judge the competition.

The Chefs Guild of Maldives is the first and only non-profit and non-governmental organization established to represent chefs working in the Maldives.

The aim of the organization is to promote culinary art in the country. Local chefs have been taking part in competitions held across the globe to make a name for themselves.
