U.S. Donates Maritime Equipment to Strengthen MNDF Capabilities

The United States of America has donated ribs, rib shelters and ramps to the Maldivian Army (MNDF).
The US Ambassador to Maldives, His Excellency Hugo Yu Ho Yon, handed over the items to the MNDF at a ceremony held at the MNDF headquarters today. Chief of Defense Force Major General Ibrahim Hilmy received the items on behalf of the MNDF.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief of Defense Force thanked the American people for their assistance in strengthening the defense sector and building the capacity of the Maldivian Army.
The items were provided as a grant under the US Foreign Military Fund (FMF) and the Building Partnership Capacity (BPC) program.
The US donated four ribs, one rib shelter and two ramps to the Maldivian Army.
The ceremony was attended by the Vice Chief of Defense Force Brigadier General Ahmed Ghiyas, along with general officers and senior officers of the MNDF.
